Tour Details

This tour is for those who wish to disconnect from the city and spend time surrounded by nature.

Huchuy Qosqo, located in the Urubamba Valley, has the best views of the Vilcanota mountain range, as well as a wide variety of fauna and flora.

Itinerary

Dᴀʏ 1: Cᴜsᴄᴏ – Tᴀᴜᴄᴀ – Hᴜᴄʜᴜʏ Qᴏsǫᴏ Pᴀss – Hᴜᴄʜᴜʏ Qᴏsǫᴏ – Lᴀᴍᴀʏ – Oʟʟᴀɴᴛᴀʏᴛᴀᴍʙᴏ – Aɢᴜᴀs Cᴀʟɪᴇɴᴛᴇs

Having been picked up from your hotel. The tour begins in Tauca (3750m), where we will walk through Andean landscapes in which potatoes, barley, quinoa and other Andean tubers are sown. The landscape changes as we ascend to Huchuy Qosqo, there the landscapes are savannas or punas scarce of vegetation but abundant Ichu or grass of height. From there you can also see the Cordilleras de Vilcabamba: La Verónica, Pitusiray, Chicón and San Juan. After our visit we descend to the plains of the Huchuy Qosqo passing by the Cauca ravine, from there we can observe archeological remains and wild cultures like the tarwi and a great quantity of cactus, following the descent we arrive at the León Punku ravine where there is a bridge and an Inca trail. There is also a canyon that has impressive geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that lead the river to Huchuy Qosqo at 3650 masl.

Once arrived at the complex we will be able to appreciate a very fine stonework in a great Kallanka or rectangular hall, some defensive residential neighborhoods and interesting buildings of two floors in stone and adobe. The place is surrounded by Inca agricultural terraces from where you can see the mountain range of Vilcabamba.

Finally we will go downhill to Lamay at 2900 m, where we will move to Ollantaytambo. From there we will take our train to Aguas Calientes. Overnight in hotel.
